In cooperation with the association RokOtok and the largest Croatian retail chain dm-drogeriemarkt Hrvatska, during May and June 2020 we decided to launch a project aimed at preserving the biological world. This action had a special weight and meaning at the time of the pandemic that we are witnessing , and when a large number of scientists are warning about the sometimes disastrous relationship between man and nature.
Plant diversity is one of our greatest assets, since the Croatian flora has over 5,000 different plant species, of which almost 1,000 are protected and strictly protected.
The beauty of plants guides and inspires us from the very beginning 26 years ago, which is why we decided to support the efforts of the association with which we share the same enthusiasm and vision of the importance of preserving nature, but also of educating our young generations.
Our country may be small in area, but when it comes to plant diversity, we are one of the richest countries in Europe and the world. Croatian flora includes over 5,000 different plant species, of which almost 1,000 are protected and strictly protected. Preservation of the beauty of plants, so important in all segments of life, has been one of our premises in business since the very beginnings of Olival more than 25 years ago. Ingredients of natural origin, nutritious and effective, are a key part of our products. The fact that, through sustainable production, we create certified natural cosmetics from plants, mostly Mediterranean ones like the wonderful immortelle, gives us a sense of privilege, but also a duty to constantly point out that the environment depends primarily on us and our actions. Duties to transfer all efforts to our youngest.
Swimming among the islands to the key education of children
This enthusiasm, will and willingness to convey important life lessons, even when it comes to environmental protection, to children through play, sports and socializing in nature is recognized in the association. RokOtok and the initiator Domagoj Jakopović Ribafish. In memory of his boy Rok, this famous journalist and blogger tries to connect all the inhabited Croatian islands by swimming through three stages, that is, for the second year in a row. On each of the 50 islands, Ribafish meets children and young people and tries to motivate them to spend quality time with their parents and other children - away from computers, cell phones and video games. It encourages them to play sports, develop critical thinking, learn about the history of the islands and their peculiarities, and one of the biggest peculiarities of the Adriatic is the plant diversity. The importance of preserving the biological world is a topic that Domagoj Jakopović talks about during each stage of his project, but also throughout the year.
In cooperation with dm drogerie markt Hrvatska and in partnership with the RokOtok association, in the period from May 1 to June 30, 2020, for the purchase of any Sun product in dm stores in Croatia, we set aside HRK 1. The check presentation was attended by the director of Olival Marijan Pojatina, Tihana Murtić-Cimeša, the founder of RokOtok Domagoj Jakopović Ribafish and dm managers Vesna Pavković and Karolina Marić.
With the support of dm and all of you, with a donation in the total amount of HRK 20,000.00, we will help and support the work of the RokOtok association , and most importantly, the achievement of the Association's basic goals - spending time with children, research, education and spending time in nature.
