Hyaluron, or hyaluronic acid in all its forms, is undeniably a powerful moisturizing ingredient. Apart from the formulation itself, the results of using this active substance also depend on how the product is used. These are the three key rules with which hyaluronic will reach its full potential on your skin.
1. Application on damp skin
Hyaluron is a humectant by its properties, which means that it strongly attracts water and retains it on its molecules. On the other hand, it is known that clean, moisturized skin absorbs active substances much more easily, especially those found in texturally lighter products such as moisturizer or serum . If you apply a serum with hyaluronic acid in its composition to dry skin, and especially if you do it daily, the hyaluronic contained in the product will very likely "pull" all the moisture from the layers of the skin onto itself, instead of embedding it in them and thereby providing that additional hydration which you aspire to.
If you leave the skin slightly wet after cleansing the face or, even better, apply a tonic or thermal water liberally on it, the hyaluronan will have a good base with which it will penetrate deep through the stratum corneum to the epidermis and dermis and thus bring much-needed moisture. This rule is important for all water-based serums that contain hyaluronic acid in any form, and it is extremely important for hydrators such as Hyaluron hydrator 4H , which contains a complex of 4 types of hyaluronic acid of different sizes and effects. In addition, as with all products, you should not overdo it with hyaluronic. Using it once or twice a day, in the amount of two drops the size of a pomegranate seed, is enough to achieve the desired results.
2. Combining with cream or oil
After you literally "incorporate" water into the skin, it is necessary to prevent its outflow - the so-called transepidermal moisture loss. The easiest way to do this is by applying a light hyaluronic product followed by a heavier, more occlusive product that will create a protective layer on the surface. The best choice for this is water-based creams or nourishing oils, which should be chosen according to the skin type. If you don't mind more detailed facial care in several steps, a combination of cream and a few drops of oil such as Omega Elixir in the last step of care is the most ideal option that will provide the skin with both moisture and lipids.
3. Humidification of the air in a closed space
You have long adopted the rule of hydration from the inside and the outside - you drink water, apply serums and moisturizers with hyaluronic acid, but you may still feel that there is room for improvement. It is most likely your space where you are staying! Air humidity is an important factor in health and disease prevention, as well as beautiful skin. In combination with a well-arranged care routine, slightly more humid air will prevent additional drying and help the skin achieve the desired youthful fullness. You can easily humidify the air with the help of a room humidifier or a diffuser, in which you can add a few drops of soothing, refreshing essential oil (be careful with your choice if you have pets!), but also with an ordinary cloth or a cup of water that you will place above the radiator. You will feel the difference, just like with hyaluronic acid, very quickly.
