Do you like apples? So do we. Why? Because apples are a versatile fruit that can be easily adapted to various cooking methods, and are also used in skincare . To start shopping. Maybe you have two kilos of apples at home, but if you don't, head to the nearby market. With the housekeeper on the plot! This is where the experiential part of this new autumn venture begins. Talk to the merchants, ask them which apples are sweet and fully ripe, unpeeled. Share with them that you are making jam, listen to their advice and after you decide to go shopping, take a break. Sit down in a nearby cafe and if you like taking photos, snap a few photos as a memory of the day you decided to make your own jam.

You have the apples, you should also get the jars, if you don't already have them, and the ingredients for the rest of the recipe are probably in the permanent inventory.


2 kg of apples

400 ml of water

1 lemon

2 tablespoons cinnamon powder (optional)


Peel the apples, wash them, remove the pits and cut them into slices. After that, place them in a larger, deeper pot and add the juice of one lemon. Add just enough water to cover the apples and turn on the stove. Cook for 30 to 40 minutes, slowly adding the rest of the water and stirring. After all the water has reduced, remove the pot from the stove and place the apples in a blender to make a puree. After that, add more cinnamon to the porridge (if you want) and leave the porridge to cook for another 15 minutes on very low heat. Since it will start sputtering, it is best to cover the mixture and wait. The jam must take on a spreadable but thick texture. Pour the jam into pre-sterilized jars, being careful not to spill over the edges so that the jam is sealed as well as possible.

Do not forget about sterilization

First wash the jars well under hot water, and then you can sterilize them in the oven together with the lids. Heat the oven to 130°C, and put the jars face down in the oven for ten minutes. After carefully removing them, turn them upside down and put them back on the quick dry for two to three minutes. For lids that have an airtight lid, reduce the sterilization time and oven temperature to avoid damaging the rubber on the lid. After carefully pouring the jam and closing it tightly, wrap the jars in a cloth and turn them upside down and let them gradually cool at room temperature.
