Why niacinamide is a hit ingredient in the cosmetic routine

Zašto je niacinamid hit sastojak u kozmetičkoj rutini

We first included niacinamide in our Professional collection with the introduction of the SPF 30 fluid and the SPF 50 cream, but we decided that this was simply not enough. Niacinamide is an ingredient that is often mentioned in the skincare world, and the buzz has been created precisely because it is intended for skin prone to irregularities and oiliness, and is mostly suitable for all skin types, even the more sensitive ones. For this reason, we designed a whole new Professional B3 set dedicated to vitamin B3, i.e. niacinamide. All that remains is for us to introduce you to all the reasons why you need it in your routine.

Niacinamide soothes, restores and smoothes

Niacinamide also appears under other names, vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, and in addition to multiple names, it also has multiple effects. First and foremost, niacinamide will act as an anti-inflammatory and soothe existing redness and gradually work to lighten acne blemishes (gradual erythema) . In addition, its action promotes the development of ceramides, i.e. fat in the skin that protects it from drying out. The production of ceramide alleviates the appearance of premature aging and reduces the possibility of skin cells drying out. Ceramides are present in every skin, but over time their production in the skin decreases, and vitamin B3 is proven to act on their re-synthesis. [1] We have already written about ceramides and how they protect the skin here , and niacinamide, as well as ceramides, actually have a restoring effect on the hydrolipidic barrier of the skin and protect it from harmful external influences. Niacinamide will prevent moisture loss from the skin and strengthen its structure. In addition, it will not cause purging, and it will successfully purify and smooth the skin.

Professional set B3

It is suitable for all types of skin, and the percentage in which it is found in a certain cosmetic product determines its effect on individual skin characteristics. Below 5% niacinamide in the composition will have a calming and hydrating effect, but also affect the balance of sebum secretion and reduce irregularities. Above 5% will help even out the complexion and reduce the prominence of hyperpigmentation and redness , as well as purify the pores, which will thus be visually less visible.

It fits into the routine easily, find out how

Bearing in mind all the benefits that vitamin B3 brings to the skin, its additional specialty is that it fits very easily into everyone's routine. It is a neutral and easily adaptable ingredient that can work just as well in a routine with a derivative (ester) of vitamin C, i.e. ethyl ascorbic acid, which is present in Vitamin Serum C+, and is compatible with retinoids.

To simplify, if the Vitamin Serum C+ is in the routine in the morning, the Vitamin Serum B3 in combination with the gel cream will go in the evening. In cases where there is extremely strong sebum secretion, but you do not want to give up the antioxidant effect of Vitamin Serum C+ in morning care, you can apply Vitamin Serum B3 before Serum C+ with SPF at the end. Gel cream B3 will be an excellent choice for additional hydration after treatment care with retinoids because it is absorbed into the skin quickly and does not leave behind an oily trace, but slightly mattifies the skin. The serum is also suitable for use with hyaluronic acid and peptides, and Vitamin B3 cream can also be applied after skin exfoliation with salicylic acid (Microexfoliant) or AHA and PHA acids (Peeling tonic AHA PHA).
